It’s a dream around my house to have a lovely library, and there’s things libraries should have. Lots of books feels like an obvious part. I’d also prefer dark, tall shelves, nooks for reading, comfy chairs.
And I’ve run across something that will be included.
Fairy Book Houses.
(I’m going to apologize right now that some of these photos don’t have links to whomever the amazing person is who made them. We’ve been without internet in my town for what seems like a decade, but has in fact only been about 36 hours. I’ve cobbled together a hotspot with my phone to grab some images, but it’s working about as quickly as a sloth swimming through molasses. Turns out my limit on conscientious crediting of images maxes out at around a dozen pages not loading.)

My daughter and her mother bought me a kindle fire to save room as they put it. When we moved a few years ago they counted my books, when they got to 1000 (multiplying) they gave up. My bookcase is floor to ceiling, and 14mtrs long.

I made my dream library. It has zig-zag shelves that I have hidden things on in addition to all the books. I have gnomes, metal bugs, an antique ink well among others, but those are my favorites. My living room is my favorite room in the house and even two years later I still get super happy going in there. Way happier than when all my shelves were actual book cases. I love the little house idea. I may need to have some of those for my gnomes to live in.
I have always wanted a room to be a library. At 77, I don’t think I’ll ever have one. It would be in that room attached to my house that I’ve never found only dreamed about. Fairy houses on the shelves, a comfortable chair to sit in and a table to hold my tea cup would compete my dream.
